The 30-Day Moving Checklist for Families Shifting Within Vadodara
A week-by-week, no-nonsense checklist for families planning a home shift within Vadodara — covering paperwork, packing, society approvals and move day.
Moving home is a project, not a single day. Families who treat it as a project — with a 30-day runway — almost always have a calmer, cheaper shift than families who 'just figure it out in the last week'. Here's the checklist we share with every Vadodara family who books us.
30 days before move day
Lock the move date. Inform your current society and your new society — both need a few days for the gate-pass and lift-booking paperwork.
Get a survey done by 2–3 packers and movers. Compare written quotes — not phone estimates.
Start using up frozen and pantry stock — moving a stuffed deep freezer is expensive and risky.
15 days before
Schedule school transfer certificates, doctor records, and update address on Aadhaar, bank, gas connection, broadband.
Start decluttering. Anything you haven't used in a year — donate, sell or discard. You'll pay to move it otherwise.
Confirm the move-day plan with your movers in writing: arrival time, team strength, vehicle size, packing material list.
Move day
Keep a 'first night' bag aside: phone chargers, basic toiletries, medicines, a change of clothes, kitchen essentials for one meal.
Walk through the empty home before you lock it — every cupboard, balcony, loft and washroom shelf. People forget things in lofts every single time.
If you treat the shift like a 30-day project instead of a 1-day panic, you'll save money, save your back, and arrive at the new home in a much better mood.
